Lidar reveals another fort, plus agricultural terraces, earthworks and many small dams, north of Alec Mountain in Northeast Georgia

A dense tree canopy conceals architectural vestiges of a lost civilization, plus the footprints of 19th century farmsteads. It only took me a couple of minutes to stumble upon these intriguing images. Further research will certainly identify many more archaeological sites.

    1. Actually, I have 8 years of university and three theses under my belt. However, back in the Mesolithic Period, when I was a college student, no universities in the Southeast offered PhD’s in architecture or urban planning. LOL
