PREMIER – Apalache . . . The Search for the Lost Cities of Gold

Part One of a two hour documentary video

Life is like a grand tapestry, Especially influential people and experiences weave in and out of a person’s life in an unanticipated manner in order to create totally unanticipated events.

Our story begins in June 1960 within the magnificent natural beauty of the Chattahoochee National Forest. A select group of young men from Boy Scout Troop 26 in Gainesville, Georgia are hiking the breadth of this national forest. They encounter strange, ancient stone ruins on remote ridges and mountain slopes throughout their two week journey. . . overgrown by trees and vines. No one knows who built these mysterious structures. Virtually no one knows that they exist. That includes Georgia’s archaeologists . . . who at that time include some of the most respected people in their profession.

Part One ends in June 2012. One of those young Boy Scouts is all grown up and has had remarkable experiences since that two week trek through the Georgia Mountains. His publicity about just one of those stone ruins in the Chattahoochee National Forest has sparked a surrealistic political campaign by a handful of federal bureaucrats, with nothing else to do . . . in the Gainesville, GA office of the US Forest Service. Their office is located just two miles from the grown up Eagle Scout’s childhood home.

  1. Richard Thornton, Sir,

Thank you for this extensive story, telling it like it often sadly is! You went through tough times just doing your inspired work simply because you were not part of the club and, even worse, you were claiming your true identity at the same time as derailing their little mediocre plans. Congratulations for having stayed the course! Yours truly, J.-J.

    1. Several of the archeologists involved with Maya Myth-busting in the Mountains were the ones who tried to frame Dr. Arthur Kelly. My funding sponsors decided that we should not risk a legal suit by either mentioning their names or telling what they did in the past.
