Video: Legal battle between the “Five Civilized Tribes” and Oklahoma’s “Big Oil”

Despite the crowing made by white Oklahoma politicians in this excellent documentary film. the truth is that from its creation as a state, Oklahoma has been an oligarchy, dominated by the Big Oil Companies. Its governor makes you think that they are a star-spangled success story, but if you look at the indicators of public well-being . . . median education, life expectancy, environmental protection, drug addiction, median income, poverty levels, infant mortality, violent crime, etc. . . . Oklahoma is clustered with Mississippi, West Virginia and Louisiana as the worst in every category. Oligarchies only work well for the oligarchs.

By the way, the Creek People were NEVER ignorant savages. We are the direct descendants of the Olmec Civilization.

  1. Before watching the video, I want to say that I have been aware of the opening of the Oklahoma “territory” in 1912, I believe, to land grabs by white settlers. That was the occasion for the resettlement of the tribes of Cherokees and others out of the eastern seaboard. The “Trail of Tears” according to my childhood texts. The TV series, “The Little House on the Prairie” was based on that period, from the book author’s childhood life witnessing that expansion westward of US encroachment.

  2. OK. My dates are wrong. I’m in the wrong century. Your previous post mentions the trail of tears in the 1820s and 1830s. But I have also since read about the takeover of oil-producing areas by the oligarchs since then.
