Reconstructed Third Century AD Norwegian Longhouse near Oslo

Duncarron Early Medieval Village in central Scotland is a reproduction of a typical Clan Leaders fortified village in the period 900 AD-1250 AD. It contains two large longhouses, where most of the commoners lived. Even as late as the 1700s, one still sees the old timber long houses in some Scottish fortified villages.
