Cascabel, Vera Cruz is where archaeologists have found art and artifacts quite similar to that of Etowah Mounds, Georgia. Also found there is the oldest known writing system in Mesoamerica. It bears no resemblance to the later Maya writing systems.
This is a very old song, which has its roots in the Medieval ballads of Iberia and the fandango music of the Colonial Period.
