PBS video – 23,000 year-old human and animal foot prints at White Sands National Park

This is an outstanding video that describes the discoveries by National Park Service rangers at this desert park and the 94-year-long struggle with the Old Guard of archaeology to accept their existence.

Equally old or even older footprints were found in volcanic sand in central Mexico about three decades ago, but archaeologists in the United States used a variety of propaganda tactics to discredit the Mexican and Scottish archaeologists, who discovered them.

Back in 1970 (Yikes!) when I was under the tutelage of Dr. Román Piña Chán, he strongly believed that primitive hominids such as Homo Erectus and Neanderthals (or Denisovans?) had lived in the Americas. He also thought that modern Native Americans were the result of many migrations of different peoples to the Americas. Genetics is proving him right at the latter theory.
