There are several major divisions of the Creek Confederacy with NW European names that have been Anglicized.
Geographical Place Names: Kiawah Island, SC – Keowee River, SC – Kialekee Creek, GA – Kiakee Creek, GA – Kiaree Mounds, Watkinsville, GA.
The significant connections between the Creek, Algonquian and Uchee languages with Northwest Europe and the Baltic Sea Region has profound implications for commercial DNA labs. It has already been proven that the Windover Pond People in Florida had the same DNA and cultural traditions as the Archaic Sami. The age of Sami, Finnish, pre-Gaelic and Gaelic DNA markers must be determined in order to accurately calculate Native American DNA. For example, since my mother’s family was mixed Creek-Uchee, our Sami, Finnish, Basque and pre-Celtic DNA is undoubtedly Native American.
Excerpt from The Native American Words of Georgia [June 2020]:
Kiale, Kialegi, Kiaree, Kiawah, Kiakee or Keowee (GA) – This was a Uchee tribe in the Savannah and Upper Oconee River Basins, who by the late 18th century, was speaking a dialect of Itsate Creek. Their capital was located at the three mounds in Watkinsville, GA. Kialegi Creek Tribal Town in Oklahoma is descended from this ethnic group. The “gi” suffix is the Irish Gaelic, Muskogee Creek, Algonquian and Cherokee word for “tribe or people,” which was added later to the Pre-Celtic suffix for “tribe or people” – “re” or “reigh.” The “re” suffix also was used in Archaic Anglisk (English) and Archaic Svenska (Swedish).
Etymology – Kiale is the phonetic pronunciation of Kiar-re, which means Brown or Dark Skin Tribe or Kingdom in Archaic Irish. OI The Creeks and Uchees rolled their R’s so hard that English-speakers recorded the sound as an L. County Kerry, Ireland gets its name from the same word.
Killico Branch (GA) – This is a stream in Elbert County, Georgia, whose lower end was renamed Bertram Creek in the early 20th century. It flows into the Broad River.
Etymology – Killico is the Anglicization of the hybrid tribal name, Kiale-koa. It literally means “Brown People – People. Kiara-re is Old Irish word for ‘dark-skinned or brown.” “The “koa” is an Arawak suffix for people or tribe. U & AR2

Not sure if you will get this. I enjoy all of your work, particularly concerning the southeastern U.S. I am originally from Savannah, I have lived in Jacksonville for over twenty years. I have heard of the Georgia-Florida rivalry concerning Ft Caroline only in the last few years. I would be interested in learning more about the truth, whatever it is.

Hey Joe, The St. Johns River was not accessible from the Atlantic by transoceanic vessels until 1860. All Spanish, French, English and Dutch maps show Fort Caroline on the south side of the Altamaha River, which until 1721 was named the May River by the French and English, but the Seco River by the Spanish. Both the French and Spanish accounts of Fort Caroline give the latitude of the mouth of the Altamaha River as its location. In 1776, William Bartram visited the ruins of Fort San Mateo, which was built next to Fort Caroline. You can still see the trapezoidal earthworks of San Mateo today on satellite imagery and or by visiting them. In 1935, Smithsonian archaeologist, James Ford, found hundreds of 16th century French and Spanish artifacts in a field immediately east of the site of Fort San Mateo. NO 16th century artifacts have been found in or near Fort Caroline National Monument. It is a 1/12th scale model of the real fort, which was built in 1962, because there was nothing to show tourists, when they visited the fake site. The New York real estate speculator, who dreamed up the Jacksonville location of Fort Caroline also created the myth of the Eternal Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine. Juan Ponce de Leon never looked for or even mentioned a Fountain of Youth.

Excited to hear of your new microscope Richard. That is what I call a Real Deal. I can’t wait for fascinating discoveries from your lab. I sure could have used that magnification to look at all the maps that I have squinted at trying to figure out what is there. Bifocals and a big magnifying glass don’t quite do it lol. Howdy, Only began to follow my mother’s Irish roots just over a year ago…this is great for those who are Irish or Ga Indian. Went out today, couple of pieces…last round I pointed my stick then swept it left. Almost immediately found what folks here call geodes at my turn around point another one. Small piece for my nightstand…Bird Mountain.Will be doing photos this weekend so a few will be coming your way.

Richard, it appears the Viking saga’s are being proven more by the day. A large Para skull in Peru proven to be a female Scottish DNA and you have found a Pict’s (Pi-tani) town in Georgia. The people of Eastern Scotland at one time built round towers like the ones found in Sardinia perhaps a connection to stone towers of the American South West. It’s now clear peoples from America / Europa were migrating across the Atlantic…only for how long remains the question and how many. Thanks for your works.

Were the Watkinsville Mounds near Barnett Shoals Dam?

Supposedly they are inside Watkinsville on the Oconee River. There are other mounds up and down the Oconee River.
