The Land of the Apalachen Creeks . . . in all its autumn glory!

Yes, the Appalachian Mountains got their name from the branch of the Creek Indians that lived in Northeast Georgia.

Now these photos should give some former loves from the past, second thoughts about the life choices they made “back then.” LOL Vivi, I know for a fact that the trees in your part of France turn yellow for a day or two then turn brown.

The nearby town of Helen, GA is where I do my day-to-day shopping. A little over 50 years ago, it rebuilt itself as an alpine village and is now Georgia’s No. 3 destination for tourists. A travel magazine just named it one of the top 10 places in the nation to go at Christmastime. This weekend, we are having both vivid fall color and the beginning of the Christmas season in Helen.

Christmas in November!
Houses in Helen are a “bit different!”
This area of my property is transitioning to being a raspberry patch
Most of my 7.25 acre tract is in a natural state . . . actually quite rugged with lots of stone boulders and outcrops. It is a protected wildlife habitat, where I see every type critter imaginable, including the jaguarundi.
These azaleas have been blooming since mid-September!
The section of my garden devoted to flowers, rhubarb, strawberries, rhubarb, sage and rosemary.
The street in front of my house. I even have “city water.”
