Video: New civilization discovered in the Amazon Rain Forest

Part 16 of The Americas Connected series

The cultural level of this civilization seems to be about the same level as the Lake Okeechobee Culture in Southern Florida around 1150 AD . . . except that the archaeologists have not found any metal tools or ornaments. Both indigenous civilizations connected their towns with causeways and canals. The archaeologists did find evidence that the people of this part of Amazonia were skilled agriculturalists.
