Premier: Thar’s Gold In Them Thar Hills

The Georgia-California Connection

This fascinating project was sponsored by the Apalache Research Foundation of Georgia, the California Arts Council and Operation New Earth Foundation of Alabama. The documentary begins thousands of years ago in the Bronze Age.

Now anonymous peoples crossed the Atlantic Ocean and created stone structures and petroglyphs in the Georgia Gold Belt that belong in southern Sweden, Ireland or the Scottish Highlands. The petroglyphs include engravings of several types of European Bronze Age ships and the universal Eurasian symbol for gold.

It continues with the mining and working of gold by Native Americans in Northeast Georgia . . . the mining of gold by 17th century Sephardic Jews and Iberians in that same region . . . the nation’s first gold rush in Georgia . . . the creation of an astonishing engineering feat in the Georgia Mountains and the 2,600 mile trek of Georgia gold miners to California, where they introduced their new technology to the thousands of men from elsewhere . .. who were struggling to obtain gold with metal pans.

It has been a great pleasure working with fellow mountaineers in Mariposa County, California over the past year. It is the location of Yosemite National Park and was the gateway that most Georgia gold miners entered to reach the California Gold Fields. Undoubtedly, some of its residents are descended from them.

You will be in for several surprises. Our research revealed that much of what you read about this era of American history in your high school textbook was less than factual. Some things were downright fictional.

  2. Nice program. Your work exactly meshes with work I am doing on Pre-Columbian intercontinental contact , primary focus the American Southwest. I have positive data showing Arabic, Malinka, and Bantu incursions here, and a previously unrecognized assay smelter at Mesa Verde (ca. 900 a.d.), as well as confirming long distance links both east and west from Meso-America, and your data in the Southeast interleaves perfectly.
Please allow me to respectfully echo Dr. Loewen (whose books I have been reading for years); having lived most of my life in New Mexico (now Hawai’i), find any way you can to be nitpicky about languages and accents, perhaps by boxing maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the image as needed and printing the place and personal names on screen? I know virtually all of the early names, I but I still had occasional trouble deciphering what I was hearing, and the sometimes imaginative spelling in the closed captions didn’t help much.
One last thought – my computer files are really getting unwieldy, Could you somehow offer some way to easily access all your posts? maybe with a searchable master index?
Think big, and thanx for your work.

    1. Immediately below the comment section of this page is the Search program for The Americas Revealed. These articles are indexed according to the Categories at the top of the article. I live very modestly and have to get on to other income producing activities, but if you could tell me which historical persons in the video, who want the correct spelling for, please use the “Contact” box to list what you think their names are and I will try to send you their correctly spelled names. Neither the Sephardic lady in Dahlonega, GA nor the Portuguese building contractor in Clarkesville, GA wanted me to use their full name in the video or to provide their names to other people.
