From the perspective of the dirt road, you can see the ancient lime plaster in the soil and collapsed stone walls. The government of Mexico should have never allowed a site so close to the acropolis of Teotihuacan to be developed. The landscape was littered with ancient potsherds and broken stone tools.
I agree Richard. The site should have been excavated by archaeologists before it was cleared in order to analyze the pottery sherds and other artifacts so that history is not lost altogether.

It is not about preserving history anymore.
Sadly, if it can be covered up (or stripped away), it will be.

As I said, there was a lot more than pottery. One could see the stone foundations of buildings.
