How else can you explain the substantial Austronesian or Polynesian DNA showing up in Creek, Seminole and Uchee descendants of the Savannah River Basin’s Indigenous Peoples?
After a three-year study, Dr. Donald Yates of DNA Consultants, Inc. proved in 2025 that the Uchee (Yuchi) Indians of the Southeast were Austronesians from Taiwan, not American Indians from Siberia. They are the oldest tribe now living in that region. There is actually a mountain tribe in Taiwan with the same name.
